Prior to joining Medellin & Associates, her high energy level and business acumen lifted her to national prominence when she was named to direct all national educational, entertainment, empowerment, and promotional marketing campaigns for Johnson Publishing Company’s, EBONY Magazine. For over a decade, Owsley created and implemented national campaigns, sports entertainment, community relations, public affairs, entertainment, and event marketing programs for the Chicago Bulls, Kentucky State University, Delta State University, EBONY Magazine, Jet Magazine, Chicago Association of Musicians and Songwriters, Mary Hurst Academy, SAMHSA, PGA, NFL, NBA, and many more. Her talent lies in creating and managing the marketing communication department for multi-million-dollar companies.
As a former speechwriter and senior writer for President Bush’s Appointee for Substance Abuse & Mental Health, Owsley is a Blackman-Reese Foundation Award recipient for motivational speaking, mentorship, and community service. Rochelle is also a healthcare strategist, which includes the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Owsley also received the National Society of Leadership and Success Impact Award last year and is an award-winning motivational speaker.
Owsley earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fisk University, Nashville, TN and a Master of Science degree, Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in Evanston, IL. No stranger to education, the University of Kentucky recognized Owsley for her distinguished service and loyal support of the Carol Martin Gatton College of Business and Economics.
