George Medellin, III, founded Medellin & Associates in 1994. His business experience includes successful careers in government, management consulting and employment law prior to launching Medellin & Associates. Mr. Medellin served in various legal and administrative capacities at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, United States Department of Commerce, Illinois Department of Human Rights and a Chicago management consulting firm.
He earned a Juris Doctorate Degree from Western New England University, College of Law, Springfield, Massachusetts, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
Mr. Medellin has lectured on diversity/employment issues at Chicago Kent School of Law; Inroads; The Center for Employment Dispute Resolution; National Association of Black Management Consultants; 100 Black Men of Chicago. He has been sought after for comment, and published articles in, Black Enterprise Magazine, Corporate Legal Times, Crain’s Chicago Business and Minority MBA Magazine.
Mr. Medellin leads new business development, manages consulting engagements and provides tactical support.
Mr. Medellin has initiated and completed successful Executive Search/Human Resources/Human Capital/Diversity Consulting engagements in the Healthcare; Media; Utility; Financial Services; Telecommunications; Non-Profit arenas. His client list includes: Harpo Studios, Inc.; The American Bar Association; CNA; We Power; The Huntington Bank; ESPN; The Chicago Childrens’ Museum; US Cellular; PepsiAmericas.
Mr. Medellin has served on the boards of: The Chicago Sinfonietta; Boardroom Bound; The Chicago Association of Minority Recruiters; Supreme Advisory Group Private Equity.
Mr. Medellin also served as the Chief of Staff for the Chief Diversity Officer, Democratic National Committee, Washington, D.C.
